Q: What should I bring?
A: For your dog’s overnight stay, please pack enough food for the length of your dog’s stay and label all of his/her belongings. Canine to Five will provide beds, blankets, bowls, toys and treats.
Q: What will my dog be doing?
A: Dogs are fed at 7:00 p.m., and then placed into the kennels so we can get some cleaning done. They are let out again at 9:00 p.m. for a 15 – 30 minute potty break, and then it’s bedtime. They are fed at 6:00 a.m. and let out at 6:45 a.m. to play all day!
Q: Where will my dog sleep?
A: Depending our your dog’s individual comfort and the number of dogs boarding, there are multiple options for sleeping arrangements at Canine to Five. The overnight attendant sleeps in the breakroom at Canine To Five, sometimes with up to 25-30 dogs each night. Some dogs cannot sleep in the bedroom, for various reasons – such as chewing, aggressive behaviors when suddenly woken, etc. Some dogs will not settle down. Some dogs are being crate trained at home and the owners do not want us to un-do any of that training. So mostly in the bedroom, but sometimes not!
Q: How do you feed the dogs?
A: All of our boarded dogs are fed twice a day, once at 6:00 a.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. Dogs are placed in individual kennels during feeding time to ensure the safety and comfort of each dog. Our handlers take great care in following your feeding instructions, providing your dog with its particular food provided by you according to the portion instructions you provide at drop off.
